On every other DSLR we see the logo of Nikon and Canon. Now to give a breath of fresh air we have Sony in the race with its latest addition being Sony Alpha A58. This review will throw light of the specs and special features of Sony Alpha A58.
Lens and Other Features:
Sony Alpha A58 is a 20.1 MP camera that allows photography up to 5 frames per second. Well Sony has improved the pixels but reduced the frames per second from ten. Translucent mirror technology is a great feature that gives light to auto-focus and main sensor at the same time. It uses electronic view finder instead of optical one. The DSLR allows auto focusing while live viewing. Such a powerful auto-focus rules out any chance of blurred images caused due to shaking of camera. Alpha A58 also comes with a lens kit which is quite improved than other lenses. The physical features have been improved for proper functioning and it also has rear lens elements. It has a three cross sensor and significant noise reduction. It has also got a memory stick and a memory slot on the side.
Body and Handling:
It comes with a flat hot shoe for direct connection and an adapter for usual function. The camera is easy to grip because of an essential rubber pad at front. It also has a plastic pad for thumb at the back. It has got a 2.7 inches dot tilting screen. This time Sony has given OLED instead of LED. The control via buttons is quite handy with easy access to quick menu using Fn button. These controls are quite similar to previous addition A57. Battery life is acceptable with 600 to 700 shots. The camera’s speed reduces after 15 shots in continuous frames. The 18-55 mm SAM II is a good option and provides great lens performance.
The specs seem to be promising. Obviously its not the best one you can have but surely it is something you can go for.
