There is no doubt that in a couple of years, Samsung has become the second biggest smartphone manufacturing company around the world. This spot was occupied by HTC for a short period of time and they were looking really good but all of a sudden, Samsung jumped into the smartphone market with its Galaxy flagship devices. There are so many smartphones in Galaxy series that it is almost impossible to remember their names. Also, Samsung is introducing different galaxy smartphones in different markets. In today’s post, we are going to review the latest Samsung Galaxy Discover. This smartphone is introduced in US market at the moment. Rumors are here that the phone will be available in some other international markets but destinations are not confirmed yet.

Design and Build

The overall weight of Samsung Galaxy Discover is only 4.4 ounces. As compared to other smartphones available in the market, this weight cannot be considered good. However, 4.4 ounces is good enough to hold a smartphone easily in your hands or keep it in your pocket. One thing that I didn’t like about Samsung Galaxy Discover is its size. The length of this smartphone is only 3.5 inches which is quite small as compared to other Android handsets in the market. The width of this smartphone is 2.42 inches and the thickness is 0.45 inches. The overall design of Galaxy Discover resembles with the design of other Galaxy smartphones introduced by Samsung in the market. There is nothing much that I would like to add to its design.

Another important thing to consider about any smartphone is its display screen. Lately, most of the smartphone companies have been trying hard to come up with large HD display screen. Due to small screen size of Galaxy Discover, its screen resolution is only 320×480 pixels and it uses HVGA screen. Just below the display screen, you will find three keys for menu, home, and back.

The biggest problem with smartphones is that, they don’t have good battery life. Due to small screen size and less resolution, Samsung Galaxy Discover uses very less battery power. So, if you are one of those people who need to use a smartphone with less power consumption then Galaxy Discover is a good option for you.

An 800MHZ single-core processor is installed in this smartphone which makes it an entry level device. The processor is not powerful enough to let you play heavy games but it is good enough to help you carryout daily smartphone tasks. 1,300mAh battery is also installed in this smartphone with can offer you 8.5 hours of talk time and it can help you phone stay at stand by for 11 days. The good news is that, Samsung Galaxy Discover has got an untouched version of Android 4.0 ICS. Samsung did no tweaking with OS this time. The internal memory of handset is 4GB, it has got 512MB of RAM and memory can be expanded to 32GB.

By all means, Samsung Galaxy Discover is an entry level device made for those people are not high-tech smartphone users and want to stay under low budget. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, and we get a commission on purchases made through our links.
