Pantech Perception

If you want to buy a smartphone but don’t want it to be from Samsung or HTC then Pantech is a good option for you. For a long time, Pantech has been introducing some really great smartphones in the market. Recently, they have announced another smartphone in US market and it is called Pantech Perception. I’m going to review this handset in this post.

The Basics

Pantech Perception has got a big screen that looks really nice. It has also got a large battery and the pricing category is good too. The edgy design of Perception will definitely grab your attention. The screen size of Pantech Perception is good but camera quality is poor. The phone supports 4G LTE but it doesn’t work at its best. The call quality of the phone is not good too. If you want to buy a smartphone under $100 contract then Pantech Perception is a good option for you.

Design and Build

Pantech has always introduced such devices in the market that have an affordable price tag. Another good thing about Pantech is that, it comes up with unique phone designs having catchy looks. There are countless smartphones in the market at the moment and one way or another, all look same. However, Pantech has put some serious efforts in the designing of its smartphone. Perception by Pantech is simply a sample of perfection and goodness. The designing team of Pantech must be appreciated for their efforts.

On the right side, you can find the power/ sleep button. Many smartphones still have the power button on top but in latest phone (especially with big screens), the power button has been shifted to the right side. On the top side, there is USB port for charging and data transfer along with a 3.5mm audio jack. Both the ports are quite close to each other. The battery cover is really easy to remove and that is another thing that I like about Pantech Perception. In many smartphones, you have to work really hard to remove battery cover.

OS and Features

At the moment, this handset runs on Android OS 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. I was expecting it to have Android OS 4.1 Jelly Bean but ICS is not a bad option too. Just like other smartphone manufacturing companies, Pantetch has also tweaked the android OS in its device but they haven’t changed it completely which I really like. There are very few smartphones in which you will find the original version of android OS 4.0 ICS and Pantech is one of those. The connectivity options are rich as well. You can connect it with Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G LTE, and NFC as well. The phone can act as hotspot for 5 devices on 3G and for 10 devices on 4G.

Pantech Perception is a perfect handset for those people who want to use big screen smartphones under low budget. If Pantech had introduced this phone with more price, they would have never got a good response in the market. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, and we get a commission on purchases made through our links.
