Nokia is really taking the issue of making best smartphones seriously. Though, the company is not finding any luck in selling a lot of windows based smartphones but looking at the current sale figures of Windows 8, one can assume that the future of Windows 8 based smartphones is bright. Keeping that thing in mind, Nokia has introduced another Windows 8 smartphone called Nokia Lumia 620. This is basically a low budget smartphone targeted for a common user. If you are looking for a high-end device then you can buy Nokia Lumia 920 or Lumia 820.
Lumia 620 is the third member of Lumia family by Nokia. So, now we have got three Lumia smartphones in the market. It is true that each Lumia has phone has different specs and features but a lot of things are common in all these smartphones by Nokia. One major thing that is common in all three sets is Windows 8 and then another thing is high quality cameras. Looking at the specs, I’m really considering buying one Lumia handset for me as well.
Talking about the Lumia 620, I must tell you about some of its specs so you can get some idea in your mind. It has got a 3.8 inch display screen. The screen resolution of this device is 800×400 pixels which is perfect considering it a low end smartphone. However, the device runs on a 1GHz dual core processor and this is one of those things that I really like about this smartphone. On the back side, you will find a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash light. Not only that, on the front side of this smartphone, just above the display screen, there is a front viewing VGA camera as well. NFC (Near Field Communication) technology is also available in this smartphone with the help of which you can use your handset to make payments.
I’m not impressed with the RAM memory of Lumia 620 as only 512MB of RAM is used in this smartphone. It should have been at least 1GB in my opinion. The internal memory of the handset is 8GB but you can increase it up to 64GB by installing a microSD card. Since, Nokia is making these smartphones in collaboration with Microsoft; you will also be offered a 7GB of free Sky Drive space when you purchase this device.
Nokia has added some cool features in this smartphone like Nokia maps, Nokia Transport, Nokia Drive. The most exciting feature is augmented reality City lens that helps you find information about a certain city block when you point the lens of your camera at that block. Once you will do that, the app will provide you with information about the businesses that are running in that area. You will also find Nokia Music services in this smartphone that was introduced a long time ago. The handset will be launched in January 2013 and the starting price for this smartphone is only $249.
