The latest development in the smartphone industry has surfaced in the form of BlackBerry partnering with LG. As per the reports, the latest smartphone model by LG, LG G Pro will be shipped with preinstalled BBM. While the market share for BlackBerry devices has reduced during last couple of years, there are certain markets that are still crazy about BBM. For instance, customers in Middle East still like to use BBM as compared to other instant messaging services but one of the biggest reason is because in most of the Middle Eastern countries, Whatsapp, Viber and Skype services have been blocked by governments.
BlackBerry has certainly found a new hope for their consumer products because partnering with a company like LG and having your BBM messenger installed in their flag ship device LG G Pro is not a small deal. Just two months ago, BBM was launched for Android and iOS. Many users jumped to the messenger but like me, there are still a lot of people who haven’t even tried using the BBM messenger for Android and iOS. Perhaps, there is no need to use that messaging services when you can use FaceTime, Whatsapp, Viber, Skype and many other instant messaging services on Android and iOS devices.
There was a time when business community was crazy about BlackBerry devices because these devices added more class to their personalities. Also the features offered by BlackBerry devices were not offered by any other device at that time. After a few years, Android and iOS devices started making boom in the market and today, wherever you see, you will find device running on iOS and Android OS. Windows phone has got a good share in the market and it seems that BlackBerry’s remaining share will be occupied by Windows phones.
