There are different apps that you can use on your android smartphone or tablet to IM with your friends. Some of the apps are very common and offer extensive features. However, not all the IM apps are as good as they should be. That is the main reason why I as in search of a good IM app that could help me stay connected with my friends and family all the time. The new imao app for android tablets has been upgraded and it offers so many great features now. You can IM with your friends on 11 different networks with the help of this single application. The common IM apps include MSN, Yahoo, Skype, AIM/ ICQ, Facebook, Hyves, VKontakte and Steam. Not only imao has won the hearts of thousands of users by coming up with an upgraded tablet app but it also offers some new and cool features as well.

For a long time, imao has been offering its users to chat with their friends on different networks but it never looked this beautiful before. The new upgrade has brought a pleasant change in the shape of new UI for this application. With the help of imao, you can view multiple panes at the same time on a tablet. This helps you to switch between conversations without moving back and opening a new conversation again and again. This really helps to save a lot of time as well. You can find contact list, options and some other chat features in those panes. Just be swiping your finger on the screen, you can take a look at your contact list and decide who should receive your next message.
There were many cool features in imao app before but two new features have been added by developers this time. The first feature lets you share your location with your friends. If a friend is asking about your location then you can share it very easily with the help of this application. You need to go to the action menu and paste your current location in the chat. A Google map URL will also be shared with your contact in the chat as well. In past, WhatsApp users have been enjoying this feature but imao has really won the hearts by bringing this option for its users.
The second most exciting feature about imao is its NFC sharing technology. It means that you can share your information with another contact very easily just by touching the backside of your device with that of the other user. However, this feature works only on those phones that have got NFC technology in them. Some of the common phones that have this feature include, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC One X, HTC One, Samsung Galaxy SIII and SIV, and Asus Nexus 7 devices. While I tried the feature with two of the listed device above, it didn’t work. I’m not sure what was the reason but maybe there was a problem in the coding of this app.
