Finally, HTC has launched its new phone in the international market that will not only compete with Samsung Galaxy SIII and iPhone 5 but also with upcoming Samsung Galaxy SIV too. For a long time, HTC ruled the Android Smartphone world but eventually, Samsung tool over its market share with their Galaxy smartphone series. There is no doubt that HTC has been trying really hard to get back into competition and we have seen some examples before in the shape of HTC One X and HTC One XL. This time, HTC has launched its new smartphone after the launch of iPhone 5 and prior to the launch of Samsung Galaxy SIV.
We are going compare HTC One with iPhone 5 to see which one is better. There is nose to nose competition between both contenders but only a proper comparison can show us the real difference.
Design and Build of HTC One and iPhone 5
The thickness of iPhone 5 is only 7.6mm and that of HTC One is 9.33mm so iPhone takes the lead here. HTC One weighs only 143g but when you look at iPhone 5, it weighs only 112g. The body of HTC One is made with the help of anodized 6000 series aluminum. Another version of the same model is made with pigmented glass. One thing is quite clear that the design of HTC One is way better than iPhone 5 and you can definitely use this smartphone for show-off purpose too. My vote goes to HTC One in the battle of design and build.
HTC One is a beast that has been unchained by HTC in the market to compete against top smartphones. The screen size of HTC One is 4.7 inches. I was wondering why HTC never went for 5 inch screen and then I read somewhere that according to HTC, a 5 inch screen is not good for holding purpose. Well, they are saying the truth, what can I say more. The phone offers very saturated screen resolution of 468 pixels per inch and that is simply mind blowing. If we take a look at iPhone 5 then Apple has introduced a 4 inch screen for the first time in iPhone series and it is really pulling off right now. The good thing about iPhone 5 is that, due to its 4 inch screen size, you can easily keep it in your pocket. The screen resolution of iPhone 5 is 1136×640 pixels which makes it 326 pixels per inch. Well, this pixel density is lower as compared to HTC One, isn’t it? One may not be able to spot the difference with naked eye but when you take a look at the paper work, HTC One is clearly the winner.
The iPhone 5 comes with an 8 MP HD camera that has got many features like auto focuses and face detection too. One thing that you need to know about HTC One is that, it offers ultra-pixel camera. The picture results of HTC One are simply mind blowing. Again, HTC one takes the lead in this race too.
