HTC has been producing some really great and amazing smartphones to claim the second position in smartphone industry but this cause looks like a far cry at the moment. It is not that the smartphones produced by HTC are not of good quality but just that the Samsung has really occupied the market with its massive advertisement campaigns and branding of its Galaxy series. In today’s post, we are going to discuss about another great smartphone that has just been released by HTC and it is called HTC First. Many of you may have already heard about this smartphone because it is from some of those phones that have got Facebook Home OS as the default operating system.
The Basics About HTC First
As we all know that HTC First is the debut set for Facebook Home so it offers really cool experience of Facebook in the shape of Android OS. It has also got Android OS version 4.1 Jelly Bean. If you are not happy with Facebook Home, you can simply disable it and start using pure Android OS instead.
However, if you remove Facebook Home from HTC First, this handset offers nothing great. It is just another mediocre handset produced by HTC to fill the market and price ranges. There is no removable battery and microSD slot as well.
You will love this phone if you are a Facebook fanatic who cannot spend even five minutes without exploring Facebook. Those who like to have privacy when it comes to Facebook and don’t like mediocre smartphones from HTC will not like this phone.
HTC First is based on Facebook Home OS and both these things are made for each other. HTC First is nothing without Facebook and so is the case with Facebook Home. You can install Facebook Home on some other android devices too but they are not solely made for this OS. On your home screen, there will be no wallpaper but it will be replaced with your Facebook Photo Feed. The photos will keep rotating on your screen and it will give you a quick glimpse on what is happening on the social media. I personally don’t like Facebook Home OS and I also believe that one will get bored of it after using it for a few days. However, if your life is solely dependent on Facebook, you will find your heaven in this handset.
An operating system is not all that makes a smartphone able to use. There are many other things that you have to consider before buying any smartphone. HTC First has got a 4 inches display screen that shows HD pictures and videos. It has got a 5MP rear camera and 1.3MP front camera for video recording and self-shots. The handset has got 4GB built-in memory which cannot be expanded because there is no microSD card slot. You cannot replace the battery of the handset too.
