Going back in history, Windows 8, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Widows Vista and Windows 7 all had Quick Launch bar. However, for the first time it was disabled in Windows 7 and so it is in Windows 8.

The process of enabling Quick Launch is very simple. You just need to Right Click on Taskbar and then click on the option of Toolbars. A pop-out window will appear in which you will be required to click on New Toolbar option.

It will ask you to select the folder that you would like to add to the new toolbar. Copy and Paste the following line in the folder location.

%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

The shortcuts can be seen by clicking on the Quick Launch button.

You can also customize the look of Quick Launch in Taskbar by clicking on Unlock the Taskbar option.

In order to change the viewing style of Quick Launch, Right Click on the dotted line and select Show Text, Show Title, and set view as Small or Large icons.

Once you have unlocked the Taskbar, the position of Quick Launch can be adjusted very easily. All you need to do is to left click on the dotted box and holding for some time. After that, you can move it anywhere on Taskbar.

How to disable Quick Launch

If you want to disable Quick Launch then you can simply uncheck the Quick Launch from Toolbar options.
