So you want to be able to share files and folders with other people easily. Well, one of the easiest ways to share a folder with someone is to copy it from your computer into a flash disk and provide that person with that flash disk. Now I understand that this kind of method feels really sick especially when we are living in this new world that is more advanced and updated.
So, based on the current technology, there are different ways to share information like files and folders with others. In this post, we are going to discuss how you can share your files and folders with others easily.
Create a Home network
If the person with whom you often have to share files and folders works in the same office or lives in the same house then you can create a simple home network between two or more computers. To learn how to create simple file sharing network, you can search on the internet. This is the simplest and easiest way to share files with someone who is in your physical reach most of the times. However, this process may not work for you if the receiver is sitting in some other city or country.
Share it via Dropbox, Google Drive or SkyDrive
There are so many different cloud storage solutions available on the internet. Some of these solutions are free but for some, you will have to pay the fee. However, if you are in need of sharing some folders and files with your clients or colleagues then you can sign up for Dropbox, Google Drive or SkyDrive by Microsoft. The best thing about these services is that, these are free to use. You can upload your folder on any of these websites by creating a free account and then share the download link with your colleague/ client.
Zip it and email it
If the file is not very heavy or if there are multiple files then you can store those files in a folder and email it. Before you go ahead and try to email a complete folder to someone, keep in mind that no email service will allow you to attach a simple folder in your email. For this purpose, you will have to zip that folder and then email it. Simply attach the zipped folder with your email and send it to the person who is waiting for those files.
Upload it on free file hosting websites
If you are not satisfied with any of the solutions that I have provided above then you can go for various free file hosting websites that are available on the internet. Many such websites may not even require you to register with them before sharing any file with others. You can simply open any such website, upload the file for free and then share the download URL with the person who is expecting to receive those files.
So, you can see that sharing a folder is not a big issue these days. There are plenty of ways for sharing information in today’s online world.
