Asus is one of those companies that are trying real hard to get into smartphone and tablet market at the moment. We have seen some great devices being introduced by Asus in this year and today, we are going to review another tablet from them called Asus Transformer Pad TF300. If you were planning to buy a new Android tablet then this could be the best option. However, before you make your mind, let me review this tablet for you so you can have a better idea.
There are so many tablets by Asus that are available in the market right now. So, you should not get confused to buy TF300. Keep the design features in your mind before making a purchase. The price for this tablet starts from $379. However, there are some great features introduced by Asus in this tablet that will help tempt you to buy this one. The spun back on this tablet is now making of plastic; previously it was made of metal. The width of the body is 0.38 inches and the weight of the tablet is only 1.39 pounds. One noticeable thing about Asus Pad is that, it is slimmer than the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and even Acer Iconia Tab A200. This is definitely one point that you should keep in your mind while buying your next tablet PC.
Display and Sound
When we look at the screen then it has a total resolution of 1280×800 pixels and the screen is no simple LCD or LED screen but Asus has introduced IPS display screen in this tablet. The brightness can go up to 350 units. If you are working on the tablet indoor then this much brightness will not bother you however, if you want to work on this tablet outdoor then you can have some trouble seeing details on screen for sure. There is a keyboard dock available that when attached gives this tablet a Laptop look so this is another plus point.
You don’t need to buy a keyboard dock as it is not necessary because you can still watch movies on the tablet by putting it inclined on the table in front of you. The speakers are located on the back side so the sound comes a little loud as it strikes the table top before reaching your ears. However, you can enjoy a better sound experience by plugging in your ear phones.
Of course, the battery life is very important when it comes to tablets and smartphones. According to Asus, this tablet can survive a 10 hours of consecutive use. While we were using this tablet, we realized that you could even drag the battery time to 12 hours but it completely depends on how you are using the tablet. Overall, we are quite pleased with the battery life as it can make your life easier.
As we all know that Asus is currently making only Android tablets at the moment. In this tablet, you will find Android OS Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3. There is no word by Asus if Jelly Bean update will come for this tablet or not.
