We all want to make New Year resolutions and stick to them but it is in the nature of men that they cannot keep holding the same thing for a long time. We all want to have a change in our lives and the best way to bring a change is by making a New Year’s resolution. However, the most important thing is to keep that resolution throughout the year. You will find some great tips in this post about keeping New Year’s resolution and I hope that you will really like them.
1. Be Specific
One of the biggest mistakes that people make while coming up with New Year’s resolutions is setting up very big goals. You need to be specific and realistic at the same time. Don’t just say that I will be healthier their year but decide how much health fitness you want to achieve and what kind of routine you will be required to adopt for that purpose. While setting a goal for New Year, you must keep your limitations in mind and how much you can push your limits on daily basis. If you will set big goals, chances are that you will fail to accomplish most of them and quite only after a couple of months.
2. Note It Down
Not only that you need to make a mental note of the goals that you are setting for New Year but you need to write them down as well. This will help you keep an eye on the things that you need to do in New Year and also keep track of your progress. If you don’t have a written goal in front of you, it will be very easy for you get distracted and believe me you don’t want that. Buy a new notebook and write down all those things that you want to do in coming year.
3. Take Out Time
If you will not bring any change in your daily life routine, you will not be able to achieve your goals and your New Year’s resolution will be completely useless. The very first thing that you need to do in order to achieve your goals is to take out time for those tasks. If you have decided to workout in New Year to gain health then you will have to specify a time during which you will only work out and do nothing else.
4. Never Doubt
If you don’t believe in your abilities, you will never be able to achieve your goals. You need to keep the doubts aside and concentrate on your goals. Don’t tell yourself “I’m not good at it”, instead tell yourself “I can do it easily”.
5. Find a Partner
Whether you want to join the gym or start a business venture, you will need a good partner. In this way, you will be able to concentrate more towards your goals because a partner will be there to remind you about resolution. I have personally found this technique very useful and I don’t skip gym even for a day because my partner is always behind my back pushing me to do the things that are important for me.
6. Be Patient and Still
Things come to those who wait for them and in order to see the fruits of your efforts, you will have to be patient and stay still. If you are working out in gym daily then wait for 3-4 months to see the results coming instead of wishing to become healthier overnight.
