There is no doubt that Toshiba is one of the well-known companies in the electronics market. When it comes to buy any gadget like a smartphone, a laptop or a tablet, you must consider the name of Toshiba in your mind. Over the passage of time, Toshiba has produced some great tablet computers for its customers. Some of those tablets were meant for low-end users and some for high-end users. Toshiba has always managed to produce high quality products for its consumers and today, we will be reviewing one another tablet manufactured by Toshiba called Toshiba AT200.
The Good Things
- This tablet has got a very thin and attractive design
- The tablet is very light weight; you won’t find it heavy at all.
- The android OS is very simple to use in it.
The Bad Things
- The build quality is not very impressive.
- High performance tasks may slow down the tablet.
- Camera is very bad.
- The screen is not as good as it should have been.
Design and Build Quality
If we take a look at the 10.1 inch tablets that are available in the market, it is not easy to tell a difference between them. All these tablets look alike and it seems that all the companies are using the same slate design for their tablet. However, Toshiba has tried its best to manufacture a slim tablet so it can be distinguished from other tablets in the market. For the first time, this tablet was previewed in November 2011 but it was finally released in market in 2012.
The thickness of the tablet is only 7.7mm and the weight is only 535g which is amazing. There are hardly any tablets that are close to the thin design of AT200.
There is no doubt that the retina display of iPad has really pushed the limits and all the companies are trying their best to come up with a technology that can beat iPad’s screen quality. The screen resolution of AT200 is 1280×800 pixels which are nowhere near to the latest iPad which has 2048×1536 screen resolution. I’m not saying that you will not enjoy the display screen of this tablet but if you were looking for something like iPad’s screen then you will be disappointed. Still, this screen size and resolution is good enough to watch HD videos. The battery time of AT200 is good so you can watch almost two full length movies once you have completely charged the device. He overall experience of using Toshiba AT200 is great especially if you are not a very high-end user.
As I have already told you guys above that the camera of AT200 is not impressive at all. Toshiba has installed a 5 mega pixels rear camera in this tablet but the photos taken from this camera don’t really look like high quality photos. So, if you were planning to buy this tablet then beware of the low camera quality. I was expecting something more from Toshiba in terms of camera quality but I must say that they have really disappointed me in this case.
