Two days have passed since the two Bollywood’s much awaited movies “Son of Sardaar” and “Jab Tak Hai Jaan” are released but still, it is really difficult to say who is going to be winning the more money on Box Office.
It must be mentioned here that Jab Tak Hai Jaan is a Yash Chopra directed movie who is famous as Romance Guru in Bollywood. He is no longer with us in this world but before leaving, he has left us with a great masterpiece by combining a great trio of Shahrukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. On the other hand, the film produced under the flag of Ajay Devgan’s production is Son of Sardaar.
Looking at the current stats coming out from Box Office one can easily say that both the movies are going neck by neck with each other and it is really difficult to decide which one will win the battle. According to trade experts, both these movies can create new history. The early predictions for both movies are to cross the mark of 200-225 crore.
On the release day, JTHJ was released worldwide in 2500 cinemas whereas the SOS was premiered in 2000 cinemas worldwide. The first day collection of JTHJ is supposed to be around 15.23cr whereas the collection of SOS is near 10.72 cr.
If we compare multiplex cinemas with singe screen cinemas then JTHJ is doing great business in multiplex cinemas and on the other hand, SOS is rocking the single screen cinemas all over the world.
The situation of both the films getting released on same day is very interesting but the main reason for which it becomes really important to follow the development is a lawsuit between Devgan and Yash Raj Films. The legal letter was sent by Ajay Devgan to Yash Raj Films days before the death of Yash Raj but it was received by the firm after demise of legendary director Mr. Yash Raj.
The letter issued by Devgan suggested that Yash Raj Films was trying to monopolistic the cinema authorities for showing their movie instead of SOS. The CCI (Competition Commission of India) dismissed the case but it caused some real controversy in Bollywood before the release of both movies.
Not for the first time in the history of Bollywood, two movies were releasing on the same day but the problem was that, both the movies were of high budget and cream of Bollywood was working in both the movies. Critics had given great ratings to both movies before release so a conflict was supposed to be created.
The interesting thing about the premier of both movies is that, every show has been a houseful. According to management of various Cinemas, none of the shows of both these movies has witnessed low public interest. Tickets for all the shows have been already sold. So, it is about time when we will get to know which of these movies will collect more money on Box office.
The story plot of both the movies is different from each other and there is no resemblance in them except that the public is crazy for Shahrukh Khan and at the same time for Ajay Devgan as well.
