If you will ask me personally, I will never recommend buying this device but if you have got some spare cash that you want to flush down in the toilet then you can go in the market and buy this device that seems completely useless to me. Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 is not new in the market but I’m still having a hard time to understand the need of such a device. May be Samsung wants to compete with Apple at each level and that is the main reason why they have introduced this device against their iPod. So, if you want to enjoy listening to music with Android experience then you can purchase this device in $199.99. In this post, I’m going to review Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2 for you guys.
If you have seen Galaxy Player 3.6 then you will find some dramatic changes in the design of latest Galaxy Player 4.2. Still, it completely depicts the traditional design of Samsung but there are some cool features available in this small device. I’m over all impressed with the design and built of this device so a big round of applause for Samsung here.
Once you will take a look at the sides of this device, you will find different hardware features like a 3.5mm headset jack, a MicroUSB port, power button, volume control etc. It has got a dedicated home button on the front side and there are capacitive back and menu buttons along with that home button. On the front side, you will also find a VGA camera and the 2 speakers as well.
Taking a look at the back side of the Galaxy Player 4.2, you will find a 2MP rear camera. The back cover is made of plastic and it can be removed to expose the 1,500 mAh battery and microSD card slot as well.
Again, Samsung has been able to impress me with the display features of this new device aka Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2. The screen size of this device is 4.2 inches and the resolution is 480×800 pixels. Obviously, its display characteristics are nothing as compared to other devices in the market but still, you can bear with it easily.
There is nothing much to talk about the interface of this media player device by Samsung. The overall display experience at 4.2 inches display screen is pretty good and you will find Android OS 2.3.6 Gingerbread installed in this device. You can access to Google Play store, install apps of your choice and have fun.
I’m not really impressed with the performance of this device as I was expecting it to have some better processing speed. Just like Galaxy Player 3.6, 1 GHz single core processor has been used in Galaxy Player 4.2 as well. While using the device, I felt it getting slower at times but overall processing was smooth.
Have you used Samsung Galaxy Player 4.2? If yes, don’t forget to share your experience of this device with us.
