It seems like; Samsung wants to populate the world with its smartphones. It is quite clear that not everyone wants to buy the flag ship devices like Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy Grand and Note 2 etc. and that is the main reason why Samsung is coming up with such smartphones that fall into the budget of ordinary people as well. If you are one of those people who want to use a smartphone but don’t have enough money to purchase Galaxy S4 then there are many entry level android devices introduced by Samsung as well. One such device is Samsung Admire 2. In this post, I’m going to review this smartphone for you. This smartphone has been introduced by Cricket in collaboration with Samsung. Cricket has not announced the complete specs of this smartphone so far but I’m going to share all those details with you that I have with me.
Design and Build
One thing that you must know about Samsung Admire 2 is that, it looks like all other Galaxy smartphone. It seems, Samsung is in love with the design of its Galaxy smartphone series and they are not giving up on it in near future. One thing that liked about Samsung Admire 2 is that, being an entry level device, it has got a 4 inch display screen. The body is made with smooth grey plastic. The battery door has got a chrome look which makes it very eye catching. I must say that Samsung Admire 2 is one of the best looking mediocre handsets that have ever arrived in the market.
You will find the default menus of Android handsets below the screen of this smartphone. It has got a middle home button (physical) just like Note 2. It adds a classic touch to this handset for sure.
You can find the rear camera on the back side of the handset with LED flash light. Just below the camera, there are two slits for audio speakers. The audio quality is not very good but it is acceptable. By removing the back plate, you can access the phone battery. Another thing that I liked about Admire 2 is the location of miocroSD card. On the right side, you will find volume rocker buttons and just below them, there is slot of microSD card.
Cricket has released very less information about Admire 2 at the moment. Detailed information may arrive in a couple of days. However, I can tell you that it runs on Android OS 4.1.2 Jelly Bean along with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. I was not expecting a mediocre smartphone to have Android OS 4.1.2 but Samsung has done a good job by adding that OS into Admire 2. There is a front facing camera that can be used for video chatting and on the back side; there is a 5MP camera along with flash light. You can shoot 720p HD videos with the help of this camera. The Admire 2 also supports 4G LTE network too. Let me tell you that it also has got NFC technology as well.
