Well if you were planning to go to theater this holiday season with your family and watch some good movies then I have bad news for you. Seems like Hollywood is more interested in fighting with Aliens, Extremists, and whatever comes their way in true blindness. They have completely forgotten that families also come to theaters to enjoy family oriented and traditional movies. Families are not really interested in seeing an epic battle between Werewolves and Vampires. It is a sad reality that only a few family movies are going to be released this holiday season in Hollywood.
It must be mentioned here that Hollywood really didn’t had a great season during summer but they are planning to wrap up 2012 by screening some great movies like “The Hobbit”, Final part of “The Twilight Saga” and of course, who can forget about “Les Miserables” which is a silver screen version of hit musical TV show.
There are two times in a year when people like to visit theaters with families and that is during summer months and during Christmas holidays. Finally, the holiday season will kick start with the final installment of Twilight series. This year you will be able to watch “The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn” Part-2. I really don’t like this movie in which an expression less girl is in love with a werewolf and a vampire at the same time. Well, she is finally married to Edward (The Vampire) and has also given birth to his child in previous part. Let’s see how they wrap this series up this year.
If you have read the Novel “Hobbit” then the movie based on that novel is going to be released on Dec-14. Keep in mind that this is going to be the first of three movies and remaining will be released in coming years. The movie is coming from the same filmmaker who has still got us under the spell of his “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, Mr. Peter Jackson.
Box office experts are looking forward to the release of “Breaking Dawn” and “The Hobbit”. Any other movie will be filling the space only.
Some of the family films that you can watch this holiday season are discussed below.
Well, this is not completely a family package but when comedy is involved, you can get your family out to watch that movie. “This is 40” is a comedy sketch that will be released on December 21 but keep in mind that it is an R-rated movie.
If you are into animated films and your family also likes them then you can go for “The Rise of the Guardians”, releasing on November 21. The movie is based on a story written by William Joyce who is an award winning author.
On November 21, we have got “Life of Pi” that is also nominated for Oscars. Another movie that you should be looking forward to is “Zero Dark Thirty” releasing on December 19. “Django Unchained” will be released on December 25. Some other movies are also in the list but I’m sure you will enjoy any movie that we discussed in this post.
