In today’s post we are going to compare two high end devices that are available in the market at the moment. The first device is Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and the other is Apple iPad 3. We will be reviewing the specifications, performance and some other features of both devices so the best of both can be determined.
To be honest with you, none of the tablets in the market interest me in terms of design because all those designs are almost the same. Taking a look at iPad and Galaxy Note, one can say that there are so many similarities between both devices. Apple iPad has an aluminum casing that looks pretty good but it doesn’t mean that Galaxy Note 10.1 has a worst design. Both the devices will earn almost same points when we talk about the hardware design. However, body of Galaxy Note is made of plastic. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is slightly thinner as compared to the Apple iPad 3 so it gets a little edge here. There is no stylus available with iPad and never was but Galaxy Note is carrying on its tradition as you will get an S-Pen with the device as well.
If we talk about the display then the retina display of iPad 3 is really breathtaking and it makes your jaw drop with high resolution of 2048×1536 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has only 1280×800 screen resolution. Apple’s iPad has got a superb display screen and the viewing angles are great as well. On the other hand, the 10.1” Super PLS LCD panel of Galaxy Note will not disappoint you as well. However, I suggest, there is no comparison between both devices when it comes to display.
Interface and Functionality
Well, in this case we are not dealing with the interface and functionality of two tablets but the two different operating systems. This has always been a classic argument that if Android OS is better or iOS. Many people will find Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 more impressive when it comes to the user interface and the functionality because it is highly customizable. On the other hand, we all know that Apple has always been reluctant to give more control to its users when it comes to customization. My vote goes for Samsung Galaxy Note in this case.
Processor and Memory
Now we are talking about the real device comparison. Of course no tablet can be judged better based on its OS and the design but if you are a tech freak then you know that processor and memory are two things to be considered. We are comparing a quad-core device with a dual-core device here. Samsung Galaxy note 10.1 comes with a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and a 2GB RAM which is very impressive. On the other hand, Apple iPad 3 is equipped with a 1GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. Still, you will not find much different in the performance of both these devices.
Both the tablets are available in 16GB and 32GB versions but iPad takes an edge with its 64GB version here.
